28th August 2007 Blackburn to Chorley Our eighth walk from Blackburn to Chorley has been published. A 10 mile walk turned into a 12 mile trek because we had to make our way from Blackburn Station to the canal, and from the canal at Chorley to the bus station.
12th August 2007 Rufford Branch It's been a while since we did a walk so we decided to tackle the Rufford Branch, from Burscough to Tarleton.
A 7¼ mile walk turned into 9 miles or so as we had to leave the canal after about 5 miles. Unfortunately you cannot walk the whole length of the Rufford Branch. Undeterred, we did the last couple of miles by road and re-visited the canal at Bank bridge (No.11) before making our way through Tarleton to see the end of the canal where it joins the River Douglas.
